Fact: Vietnam is blessed with some of the finest clay on the earth. During its 2700-mile journey from the Himalayas, the Mekong river picks up sediment with a high silica content. Vietnamese craftsmen then form this dense clay into extremely durable pots fired at over 2000 degrees Fahrenheit.
Legends Pottery Outlet is family owned and staffed and has been at the same location since 2005. Noel, Paul & Dale Porter invite you to stop by and browse through the hundreds of different pots and glazes.
Our pots are fired in a wood fueled kiln called a “bao”. All wood used to fuel these baos is plantation grown, fast growing jack fruit wood specifically raised for the pottery industry. Because this renewable resource is replanted after each harvest the high-energy process of firing our pottery is “carbon neutral”. This also has the added benefit of putting more rural Vietnamese to work in the planting and maintenance of these plantations.
